Bug Report: Looper Doesn't Pull All Items

Hello my themeco friends!

I’ve got a weird problem. Here’s my provider and consumer

Usually looper problems I’ve had were user-error originating, but this one is interesting. I have 11 posts in “Staff”, correctly categorized with no apparent post_id or other meta/database issues. However, the looper only pulls 10 of them as if it has an offset=1 setting enabled (it does not). Here are the standard troubleshoot steps I’ve taken to fix:

  • Disabled all plugins.
  • Tried to rebuild from scratch on another page.
  • Set the looper on “random” and paid attention to see if there was a specific problematic post (no luck, all pull in just fine, except 10 rather than 11).
  • Tried moving the posts to a different category and setting up the looper again; no luck!

I tried to keep from posting, but I’m stumped so I’m calling it. Thanks in advance!

Hello @Rule72,

Thanks for writing to us.

To display the 11 posts you will have the set the number of items as “11” in the Looper Consumer.

In case if you have set the Looper Consumer as “All” it would take the number of posts from the Settings —>Reading—>Blog pages show at most.

Thank you! What an interesting deal; I realize I wrestled and “self solved” basically the same problem in a different project.

I wasn’t aware that the loopers might be affected by non-Cornerstone settings even after using it for 6+ years. :stuck_out_tongue:

Sure enough, adjusting that base WordPress setting solved my problem.

Hello @Rule72,

Glad that we were able to help you. Please feel free to open a new thread if you have any more concerns.
