Bug of Search Elements in CS Standalone make him unusable

Hi Themeco Team,

How are you ?
I want to report today, that the both Elements “Search” and “Search DropDown” are full of bugs. make them unusable at the moment in front-end, on CornerStone Standalone. here is what i detect about it :

  • There a search icon “floating” by herself inside the input text element.
  • The interactive color of the placeholder don’t work (on click)
  • Placeholder text sometimes disappears on click, before we start typing something
  • Position 1st, 2scd and 3thd not working very well regarding padding of the input element
  • Sub-element Clear do not display (like… at all) and all settings relative to do not work too

Maybe there is others bug in that elements.

Is that possible to implement a fix for the next release, please :slight_smile: ?

I can confirm and fix most of these, but could I see your live site to see what’s going on with all of them? Some of them might be theme related. Have a great day.

Do you finally see what’s wrong on the Search Element from CS ?
Can you shortly explain me how can i target & display items as results suggestions, add auto-completion and display related-datas in proper panel under the search Element, please (or dropdown element eventually ) ?

What is the live page that this layout is being used on? The placeholder interaction color might be a preview thing we can’t get around. We’ll have a fix for the clear button in the next release.

If you are looking for an autocomplete search you probably want to find a plugin that can do that, our search doesn’t have this functionality.

The live page is a simple empty page of wordpress for now. i Layout it for front-end-view dev purposes.

Are you talking about the random icon inside the search input text ? i will push more investigation on my side.

I understand, but as search elements are “encapsulated” elements in cornerstone, how can i deploy a collapse empty block below search relative to this element ?

We’ll have a fix for the clear button in the next release.
