Bug in preview while editing posts

Hi,

Since the update to Pro 4, my preview is smaller than the real post while I am editing the post.
As you can see below, I use a custom template which is in full width.

Its works on the post when I see it in my website, but not in the page builder.

The real page (in full width) :

The preview :

It worked perfectly before the update.
What should I do ?

Thanks,

Hi @kosmoss,

Would it be possible to login and check this? You can add login credentials to a secure note. We might be able to spot the difference and find out why it changed. I can’t guarantee we can fix it since the template is custom, but hopefully we can figure out what’s going on and find a solution for you.

Yes, please find the login here

Hi @kosmoss,

I just compare your preview builder and your front-end view. Your preview is in full width while your front-end posts the layout is not on full width because of the custom CSS you added. Please remove that custom CSS in your Pro > Theme Options > CSS so that it will displayed a full width in your front-end the same as in your preview builder.

Hope that helps.

Thank you.

Hi,

It is exactly the opposite. Look at the main container, the one that contains the sections: this one is full width on the site, but not on the preview. We see it with the gray section for example. On the site, it is glued to the edge. On the preview, the container has margins and padding.

Hello @kosmoss,

There seems to be an issue with your child theme. You may have added a template modification or a custom PHP function in the child theme’s functions.php file that injects the featured image into the single post. We just couldn’t pinpoint which exactly code broke the payout because the child theme files cannot be accessed in your WP dashboard. If you wouldn’t mind, please provide us FTP access so we can check your child theme files.

Best Regards.

Hi, thanks for your answer.
Here are the FTP access

Hello @kosmoss,

Just as I suspected, you have added custom post templates in your child theme. Simply edit the post and make sure to use the default post template.

I went ahead and change the post template for “Interview Shanty Biscuits : Les rois du Shopify et des biscuits” post. Kindly check it now.

Best Regards.

I think we didn’t understand each other . Actually, I don’t want to use the default template. This is what I explained to you: I want to use my own template to have the content in full width. it works on the page, no problem on that side. The problem is that the preview does not apply the same “full width” system as the template I created. It worked before the update.

The problem is that I want to use my custom template on certain articles. When I select it, it works on my site but on my preview, the default template is used and not my own template.

Here are screenshots.

Hope that helps

Hi @kosmoss,

I have thoroughly checked your site and found that the issue comes from the custom page template made in the child theme. I would suggest you update the template as per the updated theme structure to get rid of this issue. While showing the output in the Content Builder it uses the default template for the posts.

Please remember that we really don’t offer any support or investigation related to the modified or customized child theme or related issue.
Thanks for understanding.

Hi,

I tried to recreate a template with the new files which come with the update as you said. I set the new template on this page : https://kosmoss.fr/des-ressources-utiles-pour-vous-inspirer-au-quotidien-juillet/

The bug still here : on the preview, the body class is ‘post-template-default’

On the page, the body class is ‘post-template-kds-single-post’, the name of my template

Hi @kosmoss,

I have checked the given URL and found the specific class for the template is in the body class. Please find the screenshot.

Thanks

Yes, that is what I said. It works on the front page, but not of the pro preview. Check it out, this class is not applied

Hello @kosmoss,

I have replicated the issue. This cannot be confirmed as a bug. It is just that at the moment, the builder preview does not support Post Templates. Only the page has the page template support in the builder. I will be adding your issue as a feature request so that it can be taken into considerations in the future update release.

By the way, did you know that in the latest release update of the Pro Theme, post templates are no longer necessary because of the new Layout builder. With the layout builder, you can create a custom layout that you can assign to a page/s or post/s, blog index, or even any of the archive pages. Please check out these video tutorials:

Thank you for your understanding.
