Browser Compatibility

Which browsers are fully compatible with these themes. Recently we were helped to fix a minor problem with IE where images extending out side the content wrapper. That raises the question as to other potential Browser compatibility issues. Which Browsers are fully compatible, and which need additional code? What is that code?

Here is my list of Browsers.

Thank you for addressing this question.

Hi Loren,

Thanks for reaching out.

It should be working on most modern browsers that implements modern standard and features. Some browsers are the replicas of another since they may use the same engines or borrowed as open source ( an example is Avast secure which is based on Chromium (Google Chrome) ). But bugs and glitches are unavoidable especially if specific browser lacks something or it’s outdated.

The issue with the IE is because of being outdated or not fully supported features, as you can’t update it similar to other modern browsers. Some can be fixed by adding a workaround CSS, but some may not. Even the same IE with different KB update Versions behaved differently from each other and bound to the installed operating system, which maybe, the reason they introduced Edge to consolidate those issues. I can say IE is partially supported by our theme depending on its features. The image sizing in IE is a known issue which we can sometimes see and sometimes not, so we couldn’t really pinpoint the possible fix, rather we give CSS for user-specific setup to make it work. But we’re on it, but so far, this doesn’t happen on other browsers.

Other browsers you have provided are old and discontinued so yes, they aren’t supported. Example is the Netscape browser which ended last 2008. Other browsers are in-app browsers which aren’t a fully featured browser.

Again, I can say, it all works on all those modern browsers (IE isn’t modern) with modern standard. Hence if your browsers are new and updated to it latest (which isn’t possible for IE) according to its recent date, or if it’s not an in-app browser, then it should be good and compatible. I can’t personally list or recommend the browser brand since I’m in no position to declare compatibilities, but please check the compatible browser mentioned here https://themeforest.net/item/x-the-theme/5871901 (partial for IE, but I have no issues on my IE, perhaps, it’s per user specific issues).

Thanks!
