Breakpoint Grid Row/Col summaries disappearing on Safari

Something in the newest update is causing breakpoint summaries for grids in Safari on Mac (but not Chrome) to vanish. The summaries will appear for a second and then disappear.

I have deactivated plugins and see that the problem is still there.

Hope this can be resolved quickly!

Thanks,
Cheshire

Hi Cheshire,

Thank you for writing in and sorry to hear you have that issue, can you try in private/incognito mode, where there are no caching and browser extensions involve?

If nothing works, please provide us login credentials in a “Secure Note” so we can take a closer look.

Thanks,

Done – thanks for taking a look.

Hey Cheshire,

We couldn’t log in using the given credentials. Please ensure the username and password are correct.

Also, would you mind detailing what you mean by summaries? Are you referring to the boxed area in the screenshot below? I haven’t experienced any breakpoint issue on my end using Safari. Please detail how we could replicate the issue.

Thanks.

Odd that you couldn’t get in. I’ve generated a new password and will put it in a secure note here.

But yes, that is the area. Those "1fr"s appear and disappear as I mouse over different areas of the screen. The fields stay there – they just go blank. It’s very annoying. I’ve tried restarting my machine, disabling plugins, etc.

Hi Cheshire,

Thank you for the credentials, We checked around your site but regretfully we could not replicate the issue, and this is also the first time we saw this kind of issue, this is probably something specific on your local computer.

Are your Safari have browser extensions? Can you try deactivating all of those for a while and see if that resolves the issue. Also, if you have another computer can you test on it? Or if you have a Colleague that you could ask if they can replicate the issue?

Let us know how it goes,
Cheers!

Thanks for looking into it – I’ll see what I can do on my end then…

Hi Cheshire,

You are most welcome. Please let us know if you need any further help on it.

Thanks

OK, I have tried everything:

  • Tested on another computer with Safari: same problem

  • Tested other websites I’ve built on different web hosts: same problem

  • Eliminated all Safari extensions (only had one): same problem

  • Cleared cookies/history: same problem

  • Restarted machine: same problem

  • Updated system software (Safari was already up to date): same problem

  • Tried with a private session: same problem

  • Used different internet connection: same problem

The fact that I experienced exactly the same thing on another computer running Safari, plus it’s happening on multiple sites running on different web hosts, makes me think it’s a theme issue that you’re not finding. Can you please take another look?

Thanks,
Cheshire

Hello Cheshire,

Thanks for updating in! I am another staff checking in and I have tested the issue in Safari. I can confirm that this is happening. This must be a bug or conflict between the Grid options and the Safari as it is not happening in any other browsers like Chrome, Firefox or MS Edge. For now, please use other browsers when editing your page. This has already been added to our issue tracker and will be looked into by our development team. I cannot make any promises relating to a fix at this stage. I will add a note to the tracker referencing your report though so our dev team can see there are multiple reports of the issue.

Thank you for your understanding.

I’m happy at least that you were able to confirm the problem is on Themeco’s end. Best of luck getting it handled speedily.

Yes, we will Cheshire.
