Breadcumbs & Additional CSS

Hello - I have read about applying a Color to breadcrumbs(weird that it’s not part of cornerstone yet) and tried to apply CSS to get these to render white. Also, my header styling is not rendering. No errors in the CSS window. Any ideas what might be causing both of these issues?

Thanks much!
Rich

Hi Rich,

Thank you for writing in, commonly this issue is caused by a syntax error somewhere on your Theme Options > CSS, Header > CSS, Footer CSS, or Element CSS on any of your elements in the header, content, or footer.

Please check all those mentioned custom CSS areas and make sure there is no typo on them. You can use this tool for checking CSS.

Sorry, but I am not entirely certain what do you mean by “weird that it’s not part of cornerstone yet” Breadcrumbs element can be used in Cornerstone and like other elements you can configure and style it without custom CSS.

I also advise to not use custom CSS (or any customazation) heavily as this can cause a conflict or make things complicated in the future (hard to maintain).

Hope it helps,
Cheers!

Hi Friech -

Yeah, I’ll test my customization CSS in an external lint tool. Thanks. I was hoping that the checker in the WP UI was doing that. I’ll also check the few references to custom CSS in a few containers I’ve set. Those were mainly min-height things But, I’ll review.

What I was referring to with “weird that it’s not part of cornerstone yet” was that I can’t see any text style controls on the Breadcrumb(BC) content element like I usually do in most other elements. Maybe I’m missing something?

[EDIT] They just appeared. I’m not sure what was going on last night, but I had selected the BC element 10 times and I never got access to and Links styling. All set! Thank you for the help!

You’re welcome, Richard. We’re glad your issue was resolved.
