Breadcrumbs Microformats and Schema.org

Dear Support

Does Snippet Extension add Breadcrumbs schema.org markup to my pages?

If I use the Yoast SEO breadcrumbs, the plugin adds RDFa markup to the breadcrumbs. While Google states they support the Schema.org markup for breadcrumbs at times and also has docs on microdata, Yoast have found this to be the most reliable method of implementing breadcrumbs for rich snippets.

What’s your best suggestion in order to add Breadcrumbs feature and schema.org markup to my site?

  1. You suggest me to use X Breadcrumbs + Snippet extension?
  2. You suggest me to use Yoast SEO breadcrumbs + RDFa markup to the breadcrumbs?
  3. You suggest me a combination of both?

If you suggest me to use point 3, could you explain me better how to implement this solution?

Thank You

Hi there,

Hi there, The X Breadcrumbs does not add RDFa markup to the breadcrumb code nor the Snippets extension.

Unfortunately, You can not mix and match those plugins and be able to achieve the proper code. You will need to override the breadcrumbs section completely and add the information yourself in the code according to the RDFa standards.

This is considered as an extensive customization process and out of our support scope. But to guide you on how to change the Breadcrumbs code you can find it in the file below:

wp-content/themes/x/framework/functions/global/breadcrumbs.php

And as it is a function you can override it on your Child Theme functions.php file.

Thank you.
