Breadcrumbs are showing sanitized Woocommerce trail

Hi!

X is showing breadcrumbs on Woocommerce, and it properly recognizes categories on category pages. That is great.
However, on the product page, category gets stripped down. Since breadcrumbs are also equipped with Schema, it would be really great to make them more advanced, and allow full path to the product.

I understand that multiple sub-categies could lead to display issues, but at least there could be an option “Show Categories trail on Product pages”, when Woocommerce is active, so everybody can decide if it works for them or not.

Thanks!

Hello There,

Thanks for writing in! Regretfully the current breadcrumbs element does not support categories yet. This is something that we can add in our enhancements list. This way it can be taken into consideration for future development. All of these items are discussed with our team internally and prioritized based on the amount of interest a particular feature might receive.

Thanks!

Ok thanks.

I hope it will become available eventually. It adds a lot to UX and SEO.

Here is the documentation that may help: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/show-product-categories-in-wooframework-breadcrumbs/.

Hey @Misho,

Thanks for the feedback. It has been noted.

Best Regards.

I would like to throw my support behind @Misho’s request. It is currently causing major headaches with a site we are currently building for a large e-commerce site. It is especially frustrating because this is functionality (i.e., including the category name in the breadcrumb trail to the product) that Woocommerce supports natively.

Is there any reason not to allow this functionality in the theme? I love x-theme in so many ways, but this has been painful. And the only workaround we’ve been able to find (Breadcrumb NavXT) conflicts with the latest version of Cornerstone.

Hi @awpny

We hear you, Rue has already forwarded the request to our developers, We will be taking care of this as soon as we can. unfortunately, we cannot provide an ETA for it.

Thanks for understanding.

Thanks for the update, @Joao. I would love to be able to roll the site back to a date prior to October 2, but our client would lose all of their order information for the last week in doing so.

The other alternative, until this feature is implemented, would be to reinstall the last pre-2.1.x version of Cornerstone (2.0.6?). I imagine this might also mean that I’d have to reinstall the last pre-5.2.x version of X-theme (5.1.1?).

Would you see a problem with this approach? No content updates have been performed using the new Cornerstone elements during this time.

Yes, please add this feature.

+1!

Hi @awpny

That would not be a problem, just remove X Theme and Cornerstone via FTP and re-install X.

Go to wp admin > X

Cornerstone will re-install and you should be good to go.

@JvP Noted!

Thank you!

Ok, cool. Thanks, @Joao.

Where can I now get a copy of X that is reasonably close to version 5.1.1?

Hello There,

You can get X 5.1.1 from this link:

Hope this helps.
