Blog Sidebar Not Showing -

Hi there

I am having a problem whereby the sidebar is not showing on my blog page. The global template is set to ‘Content left, sidebar right’, and the template on the News page is also set to this. Under Reading, the News page is set to show blog posts.

When the News page is not set under Wordpress to show posts, the sidebar shows. This is the case for all pages, only when they are set to the Wordpress posts page does the sidebar not show.

The URL of my development site is http://huubevents.fullstreetstation.co.uk/

Thanks in advance

Hello There,

Thanks for writing in! I have logged in and checked your site and it seems that you have created several custom sidebars. One of these may have been assign to display in the blog index or News page. If you go to Appearance > Widgets, you can see all the custom sidebar widget areas and they are all empty. This is why your sidebar area is blank when you view the News page. As soon as you add one widget in it, it should display. If you are not using any of these custom sidebars, please delete it and make use of the main sidebar instead. The main sidebar is perfectly showing in single blog posts.

Hope this explains it briefly.

Hi there

I cannot get my sidebar to show on a single blog post, unless I got and do some hacks. I would like my single blogposts to show the sidebar to the right with recent posts and a search area. I’ve added these to the BLOG SIDEBAR, but it does not show up automatically.

Thanks for the help!

Cheers,
Rasmus

Hi Rasmus,

I’m not sure what issue you’re having but your single post has existing sidebar already. And what do you mean automatically? Have you use the main sidebar? That’s the default sidebar that will automatically appear once the sidebar area is present.

Thanks!
