Blog setup

Hello - this might be a be an odd question but I’m using the ethos theme and cannot figure out how to get my blog right. I need to accomplish a couple of things:

  1. Embed a masonry grid for the posts in my homepage (https://endrewalls.com) that looks like the awesome one in the Integrity blog page (I really hope that’s possible!!!)

  2. Be able to have each post page in a container format without a side bar (if possible) but with other posts appearing at the bottom as a navigation element.

I don’t even know where to start with this. I love my current stack and wouldn’t want to change it. I think my website is pretty elite in it’s current form. I’m actually not doing my posts as posts at all, instead each one is a page and I’m using cards and header navigation which will get cumbersome as I add more content. I had to do it that way because I couldn’t figure out the right way to do this. But I believe doing posts would be better for SEO.

Any help you can provide would be more than welcomed!

Hello Endre,

Thanks for writing in!

1.) Please be advised that each stack has a unique blog index layout designs. Regretfully you cannot mix up one stack design like the Integrity into the Ethos stack. Maybe you can use the Essential Grid or TheGrid plugin to display post items on your homepage. You can check out more about these plugins from our documentation here:

2.) If you have a fullwidth post layout with no sidebar in it, kindly go to X > Theme Options > Layout and Design > Content Layout and set it to “Fullwidth”.

Just a reminder that a post usually will be in chronological order while a page will usually contain information that does not change at all. You can check out this article to see the difference between a post and a page.

For more information about the different options and features, we would highly recommend that you always check our documentation:

Best Regards.
