I dont know why but I cannot see how is possible set a page as “blog” to show the last pages.
I have a page “News & Events” but it is empty…

Thanks for writing in!
I checked the page and looking at the source of the page it seems that page is not set as blog page. Please do following:
Under Settings > Reading > Your homepage displays > A static page (select below) > Post page. In post page select the page that you want to show as blog post page which in your case id News and Events.
