Blog posts not displaying on page in 6.1.1 X Theme

Hello X Support Team, I have created a blog as a separate page on my website. My blog posts are all there but they are not displaying on the page. They were displaying (prior to latest X Theme update? WPBakery update?) not certain. Can you please help me out? Thanks! Lynne

Hi There,

Thanks for writing in! I have inspected your site and it turns out that you are using an older version of Cornerstone (1.3.3). Please be advised that X 6.0.4 will only work with Cornerstone 3.0.4. Please update Cornerstone by deactivating it first, delete or remove it first and go to X > Validation so that it will automatically install 3.0.4. If you go to the Plugins section and click the update right away, it will be updated to the more latest version which is 3.1.1. Then you must update X theme to 6.1.1 as well.

Thanks so much for explaining that… Interestingly enough, we had just launched our site when X did the revamp of Cornerstone. Honestly, I haven’t used it since. (Didn’t have the heart to redo the site to accommodate the new Cornerstone and have just used text every since). Will Cornerstone jumble the rest of my site if I update to the newer version? I would actually consider discontinuing my blog rather than mess up the rest of the site. I know that may sound lame…

Hello There,

All the posts and pages created in the older version of Cornerstone will look the same and display the same when you update Cornerstone to the latest. Rest assured it will display like it used to.

The problem with Cornerstone 1.3.3 is that it generates JS error on the page because it no longer works with the JS versions used in X 6.0.4 which is why the blog posts no longer displays in your blog. As soon as you update Cornerstone, the JS error will disappear and the post items will display.

Yes, this reassurance and explanation do help. Thank you for taking the time to explain it. I will try this out after Friday. We have a big event this Friday and I’m completely strapped for time and space until after it’s over. Will let you know how it all turns out. Thank you.

That worked… thank you! I was hesitant to update Cornerstone but everything seems to be fine.
