Blog page not showing after upgrade to Pro 2.0.4

I just upgraded to Pro 2.0.4 and the Blog page (i.e. the posts index page) is not showing any posts any more. I am able to get to the individual posts but the blog index page is just empty.

See https://www.corporateservices.com/blog/

On further investigation, this only happens if I use the Masonry option for the Blog style (under Theme Options) and it seems the content is there on this page but is just not visible…?? I can even click on the hidden content and get to the posts.

If I inspect the page in Chrome Developer tools, I see many

Uncaught TypeError: n.easing[this.easing] is not a function errors…

Please help!!

NOTE: For now, I have changed the style to Standard so that the error is not happening on my site. But I would like to use the Masonry style as soon as you tell me how to get that working. Thanks.

Hey @amardeepmisha,

I could not replicate this in my test site so there must be something in your site causing this. Please try the following:

  1. If you’re using a third party plugin, clear all caches including browser cache then deactivate your caching plugins and other optimization plugins.

  2. If you’re using a CDN, please clear the CDN’s cache and disable optimization services.

  3. Test for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.

  4. Remove custom CSS, Javascript and templates.

If nothing helps, please give us WP admin and FTP access in a Secure Note.

Thanks.

@christian_y thanks. I have tried the things you recommended but that did not help. I have provided the information you have asked for in the secure note.

Remember that this only happens when I use the Masonry layout (which is currently not enabled). You will have to change to that to see the error. Thanks for your help.

Hi There,

Upon further testing, I see that you have custom JS added to your Theme Options > Global CSS area which cause this error.

When I have removed your code, you blog page was rendering fine (see secure note)

Make sure to purge your cache before testing.

Thanks!

I have tried your recommendations but the error is still happening. Please note that:

  1. You will not see this problem in the preview within the Pro editor. You will only see it when you visit the Blog outside the Pro.
  2. I have commented the JS under the Theme Option as of now. If I have commented the wrong code, please point me to the exact code that I need to comment.
  3. I have left the setting to Masonry so the error is now happening on our production site. Therefore, I would appreciate a quick reply and resolution. If you need to reach me, I have left my phone number in the secure note.

Thanks for your help!

Hi There,

I was referring to the code that you have commented.

I have cleared your cache and then your Blog page loaded correctly. I have checked outside the editor using Chrome & Firefox (see secure note).

Make sure to clear your browser cache as well before testing.

Let us know how it goes.
Thanks!

I works now! I think the problem was that I had not cleared my browser cache. Once I did that, the error went away.

Thanks for your help @mldarshana!

Yes, clearing the browser cache is important. Glad the issue’s fixed.
