Blog Excerpt Issue

Hi guys,

Just noticed that the two posts are displaying weird excepts - not part of the post at all: https://prnt.sc/njz6ns

Any idea what is causing this?

Hi @kcreative,

I’ve checked the excerpt of your posts and they’re all empty:

It might be the caching issue. Could you please try completely turning off the SiteGround cache plugin on your website then check again?

Let us know how it goes!

I cleared the cache and deactivated the plugin - the issue still persists…

I checked the case and went to WordPress > Posts selected the post in question and from the right section of the screen added the excerpt:

Now, if you check the website you see that the excerpt is there. Please change the excerpt to whatever you want to have there. Please consider that you do not have the option to use the Cornerstone for the excerpt. The Cornerstone is used inside the post itself in a single view.

What exactly do you meant by “Please consider that you do not have the option to use the Cornerstone for the excerpt”? The blog wouldn’t pull an excerpt, if I am using Cornerstone to edit the posts?

And by this: “The Cornerstone is used inside the post itself in a single view”?

Thanks for updating the thread. :slight_smile:

  • Automatically excerpt won’t show up. However, you have an option to display the excerpt manually inside Cornerstone editor too. When you edit the post in Cornerstone, please click on the settings icon.

  • Under Page Settings > General > Manual Excerpts you can add the excerpts manually.

The latter part of the question wherein you are looking for clarification, I will request Christopher to post an update for that. I will check with him and will update the thread.
