Best practices for large website (starting afresh!)

Hello all,

I am running a large website (100+ pages, 50+ posts). My client has changed their brand style and we are completely overhauling the website.

What tips do you have that would make my life easier down the road?

My most burning question:
I am doing my best to create a solid design guide before building the pages. However things may change in the future, for instance a slight change in the style of the buttons, or in the style of quotes. How do you avoid having to update 100+ pages?

What is best practice? Style repeating objects using the controls, or apply a class and style the object in the CSS?

Thanks, Paul

Hi Paul,

It will be very difficult to answer your question without knowing the particular issues you are having. I would suggest you can avail of our newly launched service called One, where we answer the questions beyond normal theme support.
Regarding the repeating styles, you can save the styles in the Preset and apply them wherever it is required or else you can add custom CSS code and use the common classes in the elements.

Hope it helps.
