bbPress root and header issue

Hi X - I’m pretty much a vet with X and Pro but I’m a newbie when it comes to using bbPress. I’ve just set it up for a client.

It seems I’m having a problem displaying the root of the forums at https://academie2080.com/forums - I tried overwriting it with my own standard page called “forums” with a shortcode on it but it doesn’t seem to work

Moreover I’m trying to display the same header on the sub pages of the forums but I can’t find them in the header manager…

Can you provide some insight please? Thank you

Hi There,

Thanks for writing in!

I checked your site and the header is coming fine in the individual forum page. Just the background is not coming as BG is coming from a section in hope page.

Regarding the forums issue, please send us your login details in a secure note . so that we can have a look on to the setting.

Thanks

OK I’ve attached a secure note. Happy to hear your feedback.

I’m also wondering how to style the search results’s page CSS to give a -200px margin top to the results like on this page here

Thank you!

Hey @alexgingras,

The forum is list is there but it is hidden by your header bar. If you set the bar to relative, it will fix the issue.

It looks like the styles are missing though. Are you using Cloudflare? Please also purge all caches and deactivate caching in your site so changes will take effect immediately.

Regarding applying header to bbPress sub pages. it’s not currently possible. Right now, it will use the global header.

About giving -200px top margin to the results page, this is the current setup.

Giving -200px top margin will make it move it up higher to the point that the content will disappear. Please clarify and it will be best that you open this up in a separate thread and just post a link to this thread for reference to avoid confusion.

Thanks.

Hi Christian - I’m not using Cloudflare - I cleared the bluehost cache and I’m still getting the same result…

I’ve corrected the visibility issue my making the header with the grey background the global default

Hi there,

Let’s keep this thread about the root URL of the forum, for the rest kindly open up new threads.

Kindly open up new threads for additional questions as it will help us to focus on each issue and give you a better support which you deserve. Having a long threads makes the maintaining job harder and also it will be harder for the other customers to find the correct information if they have similar issues. You are always welcomed to reply to this thread to follow up the same question.

Now regarding the Root URL you can go to Settings > Forum and set a SLUG for that:

It seems that you have a page that overrides the default one, so try to use another slug.

Thank you.

Hi Christian,

I tried that, and reset the forums also, I’m still having the same problem…

Wow ok so I deleted WPML and put my headers at relative and now it all works! thank you

Glad that we could be of a help :slightly_smiling_face:
