Bbpress custom index page cornerstone builder

Hello theme.co

i’m installing a bbpress on a site and wanted to define a custom page for it with including the [bbp-forum-index] shortcode in the pro cornerstone builder.
The index page setting for bbpress and the permalink of this page is the same as suggested from the installation manual from bbpress. Unfortunately, the shortcode only works when I add it with the default wordpress editor (Gutenberg).
If I use the builder to design the page, the title of the original index page of bbpress is displayed and below it nothing from the builder, not even the additional text that I have inserted.

But in the builder you can see both, the part generated by bbpress, and the text and filled shortcode created before me.

Hey @Regnalf,

The shortcode works on my end. I’m using the parent Pro 5.0.4, WP 5.8, and no 3rd party plugins except bbPress. Please try that setup and only if the mentioned setup doesn’t help, you can provide the following info in a Secure Note.

  • WordPress Login URL
  • Admin username and password

You can find the Secure Note button at the bottom of your posts.

Thanks.

I’ve added credentials see secure note

Hey @Regnalf,

I added the forum shortcode on a test page and it works (see the page in the secure note).

If I’m not replicating the issue correctly, please provide the step by step instructions on how to replicate the issue.

By the way, your Forum Page is neither powered by the Layout nor the Page Builder so please detail how you the bbPress forum set up.

Thanks.

Yes it works, but it has a different permalink from the root index setting from bbpress that is mitgliederbereich/foren.

I don’t know why the official documentation says you should set the same root index and page permalink with the same url, but i found a bbpress support request that approve this too:

https://bbpress.org/forums/topic/forums-index-vs-custom-page-shorturl#post-145699

Because if you step in from the test page to a forum, and click on the top left button “back to forum index” it forward you to the root index page from the bbpress setting what is mitgliederberich/foren and not test.

Hey @Regnalf,

Thanks for providing more details.

We don’t have support for bbPress Forums yet unlike WooCommerce. With that said, regretfully, you need to create the forum page manually and need to find a way to override the To Forums List URL.

I’ll list this as a feature request. If there is enough demand for bbPress layout, this might be taken into account in future developments.

Thank you for understanding.

Ok, thanks, wouldn’t need the custom page if i could style the generated index site. The problem is on the index site is no bbpress present, is it possible to add a body class to this site, the rest is just css.

Hey @Regnalf,

That would require bbPress customization so regretfully, we can’t provide further help.

Thank you for understanding.
