Bb Press Homepage Disappeared

Hi Xters…

I’m still building my webpage from scratch and the bb Press forum has never been a problem though I haven’t really dealt with at all yet and there is no content (fortunately.)

Problem: the bb Press homepage just mysteriously vanished from both the ‘Pages’ directory and from the list of pages available under ‘Appearance>>Menus.’

However, the bb Press homepage is still included on my previously saved header menus (it just can’t be added to new ones,) it also still appears under both Blog>>Forums and as a forum icon on the menu bar, and there is still a ‘Forums’ tab in the main WordPress directory.

On the other hand, the bb Press plugin can’t be deactivated (WordPress goes to a white page while eternally searching) or deleted (says ‘are you sure’ but does not delete on selecting yes) to prepare for re-installation.

Must say this behavior makes me nervous about moving forward with bb Press… Any ideas about what may be going on here?

Hey @ajonesx,

Please try switching to Pro parent the first then check if the issue persists. Next, try with the default WordPress theme and then let us know the result.

Hi All,

Tried switching to both X-Theme parent and WP Twenty-Seventeen and got the same results with no change.

OOOPS VERY BAD IDEA… Website totally messed-up losing all the modifications in the widget section (destroying all the custom work on my header, footer, and sidebars) along with who knows what else!

Fortunately I have an automatic daily backup plan with my host…

UPDATE: Just restored my website from two days ago and all the issues with the bbPress plugin are still there so this apparently an older problem. What’s the matter with this plugin… these issues have been reported before (see link in original post?)

Hey @ajonesx,

We have not seen this issue before. It sounds like a conflict with bbPress and your WordPress setup because the issue persists even when you switched to the default theme.

I’m sorry that your site got messed up. I should have warned to backup your site because it will reset the widgets and menus.

Please contact bbPress support because they have a better understanding of the plugin’s functions. Tell the support that you switched to the default WordPress theme and the issue persists.
