Hello i hope you can help me with some basic styling of recent post. I need to change background color, text color, line thickness, line color

Hi,

To change all that, you can add the code below in Theme Options > CSS

/* recent post styling */
.x-recent-posts .h-recent-posts {
   color:red;
}

.x-recent-posts .x-recent-posts-date {
    color:blue;
}

.x-recent-posts a {
   border: 5px solid red;
   background-color: yellow;
}

Change the colors as you like.
