Background Video Works on Mobile

[brianabela]

Hi everyone,

I’ve been trying to figure out this issue for some time, and could use your help.

All our topics state that having a video playing in the background when viewing a site on a mobile device is NOT possible because of restrictions placed by devices to avoid excessive data usage.

Well here is an example that works, and I would really like to figure out how they managed to do this, and more importantly are we able to use this to implement using X-Theme. Here is the site:

Alcohol Rehab | Drug Rehab Toronto - Trafalgar Addiction Treatment

Now load this page on your mobile device and see that the background video automatically works.

Can anyone figure this out?

Thank you in advance.

Hi there,

Thanks for writing in! Regretfully this isn’t a feature offered by X. It could be possible with custom development, but this would be outside the scope of support we can offer. You may wish to consult a developer to assist you with this. X is quite extensible with child themes, so there are plenty of possibilities.

You could try using Revolution Slider, it suppose to work same as X but I have noticed that on the latest versions the video background has been working on mobile in some websites.

Thanks for understanding. Take care!
