So it seems a few background images on my home screen aren’t scaling properly or being Smushed by the Smush Pro plugin and this is severely affecting my websites load time.
Can you tell me what the best size for background images I’d like to use on scrolling sections?
Anything I do to them messes up the pixilation or doesn’t scroll over properly/look good when you work your way down the page
I will also add my login to a secure note

The best size is the same as the resolution of the monitor you support. If you support Full HD monitors then the best size is 1920 x 1080px.
That’s not taking into account what Image Optimization plugins will do to the image so for that, you’d need to contact the Smush plugin support. The video below will show you some ideas on optimization plugins but ultimately, it will be the responsibility of the plugin developer to answer questions regarding image optimization.
