Background image fade effect fade out issue

The background image effect fade is not working correctly. Images fade in normally but they don’t fade out at all so the transition between images is abrupt. Is there an adjustment I can make somewhere to control how quickly the images fade out.

I suspect this may not be a problem for all cases, but my images have a transparent background so when the previous image disappears with no fade effect, it can be seen disappearing suddenly.

Hi Sheri,

Thank you for writing in, but sorry I can’t replicate this issue on my end, my background-images fade-out/fade-in properly, please clarify how we can replicate the issue.

Yes, it could be the issue is with in your images. Try using other images.

Cheers!

I’m using another script as a work around. What happens is the fade out isn’t really a fade out. The image goes away instantly. Normally you would not see this because it doesn’t happen until the next image completely covers it.

I was trying to use images of objects that have a transparent background. Let’s say your first image is a basketball and your next image is a baseball bat. When the the bat fades in and covers the basketball, you can still see the sides of the ball behind the bat, which is fine.

The problem is instead of fading out slowly, the ball just sits there until it disappears abruptly. Again, if my picture of the bat didn’t have a transparent background I’d never see this happen.

The affect works fine if if there’s no transparency in the top photo because you can’t see how the last photo disappears since it’s covered completely by the top photo.

I just wanted to override the fade-out part of the code that controls this feature so I wouldn’t have to use an extra script.

Hi Sheri,

Thank you for the clarification, that makes sense, but the background-image option, particularly in a whole page is not meant to have a transparent area.

I’ve submitted this to our feature request tracker so the developers will be made aware of it. This way it can be taken into consideration for future development. All of these items are discussed with our team internally and prioritized based on the amount of interest a particular feature might receive.

Cheers!
