Back end very buggy & slow, crashes often

Hi
our back end is very buggy.
adding new pages to the main navigation for example is a nightmare as it takes 5-10 attempts to succesfully take the first step (adding a new page to the menu), then I must immediately save, and then several attempts to move the menu item across to its intended place. In between I must save so that the process doesn’t start from the beginning.
the symptom’s during this are non responsiveness, freezing, buggy or patchy movement and crashes

I am not sure where to start the investigation, a year ago I had the server upgraded with more memory and performance, I think we updated the php as well, and not sure if its due for another upgrade of somekind or what but depending on what i am attempting the back end is from ok soso to unusable
please help
We are running wordpress 6.06; version 9.1.4 from X I believe

It generally happens due to cache or PHP memory issues, I would suggest you increase the PHP memory limit and troubleshoot the common issue from our given troubleshooting guidelines.
