Avoid loading duplicate Font Awesome from both X Pro and RevSlider

Hi there. Loving your theme. I’m busy doing speed tests on https://africa.film, my latest site, and noticed that it’s loading Font Awesome via both X Pro and RevSlider. (The third and sixth slowest thing to load). Is there any way to avoid loading both? See https://tools.pingdom.com/#!/ckSzlP/http://africa.film. The site’s slower than I’d like at the moment, so looking for any ways to speed things up. Thanks.

Thanks for writing in!

Please use a minify plugin so that the JS scripts and CSS files will be combined all together. Combining the files removes the posibility of loading duplicate files. Just make sure that you exclude other theme resources because there were instances where in, the theme will no longer allow you to edit using the Pro editor because of the minification. When that happens, you have to deactivate the plugin first before editing a page.

Thanks Rue. I already had Minify turned on in WPRocket; will follow up with them on why that’s not working. Thanks for pointing me in the right director.

Hi There,

You can also try to remove the function (load_icon_fonts) use by RevSlider to add the fontAwesome using the WordPress remove_action function.
