Automatic navigation dropdown on hover in Ethos?

Hi, is it possible to have navigation items automatically drop down on hover, instead of click?

It gets confusing when the user clicks on the top level, and then has to click again to open top level items. We would like clicking the top level item to open that page right away, not just open the dropdown menu.

Are you referring to the mobile version?

On desktop the sub menus will appear on hover.

Desktop version. Currently, users have to click once to get the dropdown to open.

That is not the case for me. I used the Google Chrome Browser on my Macbook Pro and here is the result in the secure note.

The submenu is showing upon hovering my mouse with no problem.

Kindly clear your browser cache and test the case. Thank you.

This is strange. We tested it on multiple Google Chrome browsers (on Windows) and hovering did not activate the dropdown. We also tested on FireFox with the same results.

We tried your own site as well with the same issues. http://demo.theme.co/ethos-1/

Hi there,

Please use another device to test the case. If your desktop device is a touch device the hover will not work as for touch devices there is no hover to work on.

I did check both your website and the demo you gave the link to 2 different machines and the hover works fine.

We tested on laptops. The laptops do have touch-screen functionality, but we are using the mouse and cursor. Will hover not work on a machine with touch-screen functionality even if the user is using a mouse to navigate?

Unfortunately, the hover event will not trigger if the device is touch enabled no matter it is a laptop or tablet.

We added this as a feature request. This way it can be taken into consideration for future development. All of these items are discussed with our team internally and prioritized based on the amount of interest a particular feature might receive.

I have the same issue. The dropdown menu only appears on click and not on hover, even though I access it from my desktop. How can I fix this?

As mentioned above, if the laptop that you are using or desktop device is touch-enabled the hover will not work.Please kindly open up a new thread and give us the detailed information about the device that you checked the website and the website itself to follow up with you.
