Automatic excerpts not updating on Blog Page

On my website www.worldforagirl.com I use automatic excerpts for my blogs (i.e. the first words of the blogs appear as the excerpts in the Blog page). I want to continue using Automatic excerpts in this way.

I needed to update the opening text of one of my blogs and have this feed through to the excerpt. I changed the opening text but this has not fed through.

Could you explain how I can:

  • Change the excerpt for that one post; but
  • Keep the automatic excerpt feature on (for the other posts)

Seems you have an issue with a third-party plugins, we are really sorry but this is something out of our theme support scope. Fact that there is no accountability for a third-party plugin. We encourage you to please take help from the plugin author or a developer.

Could you explain why you think this is a third party issue please?

My understanding is that X theme provides the automatic excerpts as standard - at least it’s always worked that on my website. If this is the case, could you respond please, as it seems that the X theme standard does not allow for updates to the opening text of blog posts to flow through.

Could you help please?

Hi there,

Sorry for the confusion, there are two section on your site where the latest posts are displayed. It’s the home page and the blog page, and I think we were referring to the home page where it’s displayed by a 3rd party plugin.

Let’s go back to the blog issue, would you mind providing a video recording of what’s happening? And have you tried clearing your cache after the changes you made? I see it being served by W3 Total Cache.

I also checked your posts and the automatic excerpts reflects some texts from the single/actual post. Hence, it works based on my observation. Or are you referring to manually added excerpt?

Hello

I’ve just checked back and the problem has gone away. Not sure why and how but the blog text is flowing through now.

It was also probably some cache that cause the issue.
