Another user posted about this issue. I am unclear if it is somehow a new change to the acceptable “TYPE” for author but on every page on all my sites that I have implemented the “Testimonial” Element. I am receiving a warning in my SEMrush dashboard and my google search console. I have tried every method to resolve this. The only method that has been successful was to ‘uncheck’ the schema checkbox in the ‘testimonial’ element controls panel. I then duplicated the data (information from review) and using another plugin I was able to clear the errors. However to clear the error there must be a “author”: {
“@type”: “Person”,
“name”: “Bob Smith”
},
So if @Themeco would please perhaps push a simple update or a solution to this issue it would save me a lot of time. Currently your element outputs the @type’: as nothing but google is reading it as “THING” which is unacceptable. Schema.org allows for the following depending on what you are utilizing the schema for. It would be ideal if we had control if you could add one more element control for the type to allow us to enter.
Google search central documentation states the following.
“”
Required properties
author
Person
or Organization
The author of the review. The reviewer’s name must be a valid name. For example, “50% off until Saturday” is not a valid name for a reviewer.
This field must be shorter than 100 characters. If it’s longer than 100 characters, your page won’t be eligible for an author-based review snippet.
To help Google best understand authors across various features, consider following the author markup best practices.
I understand that @Kobber posted about this on April 25th. However I have been unclear on how to solve this issue. If there was an update to PRO I am unclear if I have to somehow reinsert the ‘testimonial’ element or what the best method to resolve this issue will be.
