[Author Shortcode] Missing Link to Author's Website

Dear X Team,

As you can see from the following screenshot,
the User’s short description and website link are in :

But when we add the shortcode on a blog post, we don’t see the author’s website link :

Now, if we try to add facebook, twitter : they are working fine!
But the website… not.

Is there a way to show this link?

Hi Rick,

Thank you for writing in, sorry but the Author shortcode does not really have the feature to output the website data. You can manually add a link to the author bio instead, it can be a text or an icon

e.g.

<a href="#">view my site</a>

or

<a href="#">[x_icon type="anchor"]</a>

The reason why I opened this ticket is because I already tried doing that.

Unfortunately you can’t open it in a blank page, even if you put target=”_blank” in the link. When you save your Biographical Info in the dashboard, WordPress will automatically remove the target=”_blank”…

Is there any other solution?

Hi Rick,

Sorry did not anticipate that. That is actually a WordPress thing (called HTML tag “sanitization”), you can follow the solution provided here on how to enable all HTML tags in Biographical Info.
