Audio File Count advice

Hi. I have set up an audio file on my post and I want to try and log the number of times it is played. I have found a plugin that will do this, but requires the audio sources file url to be placed within a shortcode. I can’t see that this can be done within the Audio element Setup Source field.

Would you have any ideas on how this could be done please?

Hello Alex,

If you are using the Audio element, when you switch to Player as the Audio Type you can have the source url in the Sources field:

Hi and thanks for your response.

What you suggest is what I have, but in order for this plugin to work, the file source needs to be as part of a shortcode and when I add the shortcode and url within the square brackets needed for the shortcode, the file does not play.

Hi Alex,

Unfortunately that is not possible for the Audio element. It could be possible with custom development, but this would be outside the scope of support we can offer. You may wish to consult a developer to assist you with this. X is quite extensible with child themes, so there are plenty of possibilities.
