hello,
I am using the audio element for an .mp3 to play in the background however it is not auto-playing, It will only play if I hit the play button which I don’t want the user to have to do. Please advise. Thank you

The Audio element has the option to Autoplay, you need to enable it to play the audio automatically. Please remember that for the Autoplay Policy Change, you need to mute the video or audio in order to start the video or audio automatically or wait for user interaction and play videos on demand unmuted.

NOTE: The mute option is not available with the Audio element.

I already enabled autoplay for the audio element, and I’ve muted the video. This is why I’m seeking assistance in finding the correct solution. I attached my credentials if needed. Thank you.

Hi Jennine,

I have checked the page and found that you have added a video and set Autoplay enabled and muted the video, and also added a audio and set the Autoplay enabled. But as per the Autoplay Policy, you need user interaction for autoplay without mute, whether it is audio or video. And that is why the video is playing because it is muted, and the audio is not playing because it is not muted.

Could you put in a feature request for adding the mute option to the audio element?

I am not sure if there is any point in adding the mute option to the Audio element as it plays automatically without any sound. Still, I will check with our development team and if possible will add it as a feature request.
