Attached columns (insert rows)

Hi there–I’ve been trying to set up a nested column layout. 2 columns across the page and each column having a 1 full width column on top 2 columns below type layout (See attached image).

I can “trick” this by using a global element but can’t seem to figure out how to accomplish this with editable content.

Hello @speckledjay,

Thanks for writing in!

Please update your theme to the latest version. Our latest versions are:

  • Pro theme 3.0.2
  • X theme 7.0.2
  • Cornerstone 4.0.2

This latest release contains fixes for several issues so be sure to check out the changelog (http://theme.co/changelog/).

After doing the updates, always remember to clear all caches (if you are using WP Rocket, WP SuperCache or W3 Total Cache) when updating so that the code from the latest release is always in use. This will help you to avoid any potential errors.

Once you have the latest version, you can create the layout about in the Pro editor or Cornerstone. Simply insert the new Row element inside the column and you can have a nested layout. For some tips, you might want to check out our Youtube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgY5E3tOI83kBEahh9Y3uRg

Hope this helps. Please let us know how it goes.

Thank you–yes, I can now add these elements however, I’m running into another issue. each time I add a new section with a row which has two columns. these columns keep getting written as stacked columns or rows. None of the settings I have adjusted have impacted this.

Hi @speckledjay,

Please kindly make sure that in the Flex settings you set the options correctly:

Also, in the Row settings, you can see that you are able to add column count based on the breakpoint of the screen size. I suggest that you double-check and make sure it is set to two-column:

I suggest that you check this video to know more about the new Row feature and how to utilize it for your designs.

Thank you.
