Assigning category to Modern Post Caroussel Slider

Hi,

On this page - https://reishuis.nl/homepage-new/ - I’m attempting to refresh the old homepage by adding a Post Caroussel Slider from the Modern Slider pack.

I want that slider a) to show only a specific category of posts, not necessarily ‘recent posts’ and b) to be able to set how many posts in that category will show. I have tried to edit the loopers but can’t seem to get it to work, even after searching the forum for a workaround. I need help :innocent:

Thanks in advance!

Hey @yingfuli,

It sounds like you’re not aware how the Looper work yet so I’d recommend you learn how the Looper work from the links below:

Just a hint for your case, you should use the Query Builder, set the Taxonomies you need and set the Count.

Thanks, that already helped a bunch.

One more question: if I want have certain pages to appear in the Post Slider, how can I determine in the Qeury Builder which pages to pull in? When choosing Pages as post type and then go to Taxonomies, it doesn’t show page titles for instance though that would be very useful.

Hello @yingfuli,

Pages do not have taxonomies. You will have to selectively choose each of the pages you want to display on the Slider by clicking the Include “Specific Posts” in the option.

Best Regards.

Okay, thanks. But… what am I missing here?

Hi @yingfuli,

I have checked the page and found that you have applied the Looper Provider and the Looper Consumer wrongly for the Carousel Slider. I have added the sample on the same page, I would suggest you check and replicate the same.

Thanks

Thank you. I’m getting there.

Hi @yingfuli,

Please let us know if you need any further help on this or not.

Thanks

Just one last one (for now). How can I change the date on the slides - {{dc:post:publish_date format=“m.d.y”}} - to show prices instead? I have set the travel pages with a price through Essential Grid. Is it possible to pull that data into the date field?

Hi @yingfuli,

If the price is set to any meta field, you can use the {{dc:post:meta key=“meta_field_name”}} inside the looper to get the price for each item.

Hope it helps.
Thanks

Great, thanks. Is there a list of all those {{dc:post.}} handles?

Hey @yingfuli,

Regretfully, we don’t have any lists of all the items for {{dc:post.}}.

Thank you.

Hi again,

on https://reishuis.nl/homepage-new/ I have finally finished my Post Slider. Just one itsiebitsie thing: when swiping the slider all is well but when I use the navigation the data on each slide disappears for until the next slide is in the middle. It’s a bit annoying. Any suggestions as to what causes this?

Hello @yingfuli,

I checked your given site URL it seems that the slide working fine, I also checked the navigation of the slider and it seems that the data is displaying fine at the moment. It might be the issue of browser cache I would suggest you please clear your browser cache and recheck it again. I have tested it on the Google Chrome browser version 116.0.5845.97.

Thanks

Hi,

Clearing cache does nothing. I’m working in Safari (Versie 17.0 (19616.1.26.11.3) MacBook Pro M1)). It does work smoothly in Firefox and Chrome. I must say that I have experienced several of such glitches that seem to be solely attributed to Safari.

Hey Uli,

Thanks for the video. I have replicated the issue with the Post Carousel Slider element when viewed in Safari. I suspect this is a bug so I’ll add this to our list to be queued for investigation by our development team.

Please stay tuned for updates.

Thanks! Glad to be of help.

You’re welcome.
