Hi,
The dropdown search element is assigned aria-hidden = true attribute which then becomes invisible to screen reader. How do we change this? Wish there was a place to configure ARIA values for the elements in the design bar.

Hi Deepak,
Regretfully that is not possible, it will require editing the theme’s core files which is outside the scope of our support and we just don’t recommend it as will just create more problems in the future.
Thanks
Hi @paul.r,
This is a shame cause I thought @Themeco supported ARIA for accessibility through its X and Pro Themes. The only option is then to remove the search element as it is invisible to screen readers and does not conform to the standards. It would be good if there was a bit more focus on accessibility.
Hi Deepak,
Sorry to hear that, it’s intentionally hidden for now as aria-hidden
indicated, but yes, there should be options to hide or unhide it from readers. But since it’s a dropdown which basically hidden, then I think aria-hidden is correct. Else, the reader may see it but visually hidden.
Thanks!
