Are there any Options to Customise the Portfolio Page?

Hi, I wrote a support question earlier about breadcrumbs on the portfolio page. I successfully fixed that problem by using the Portfolio template but now there’s no way to add / change anything on the portfolio page.

On the Blog page I suppose there are no options to customise that either but surely there must be some way to do this that doesn’t involve a lot of coding (why visual web designers like me use themes like X in the first place).

Anyway what I’d like to do is at least add a call to action at the base o the page to contact me if the visitor / person likes my work. It really seems a reasonable thing to desire for my professional website. I’ve tried to use The Grid plugin and a few other work arounds but they mess up the breadcrumbs.

OK - so just wondering if you have any advice on this?

Thanks for writing in! Please understand that the portfolio items displayed with grid layout in the portfolio page were dynamically generated in chronological order by the portfolio template itself. You cannot edit this page in Cornerstone/Pro editor or even with the default WP editor. You can only add custom contents on this page by adding it manually to the portfolio page template.

What you can do is that you duplicate your global custom footer and edit it adding a new bar which will display first. You can add a call out button and other custom contents in the new bar. You can then assign this duplicate footer exclusively for your portfolio page. When you view you portfolio page, you will have a modified portfolio page displaying the newly added elements in the footer right below the portfolio items.

Actually yes that is helpful. So will make a custom footer and that will sort that out.

However, when I go to the portfolio item category pages (which I may include in a sub menu) there is a white indent before the title (please see screen shot).

I tried to remove it with custom css but couldn’t get it to work?

It’s an icon beside the title and colored white, but I did check your staging site and I don’t see them anymore. Glad it’s now removed as you preferred.
