Appearance > Menus loads too slow on Pro

Hello!

I’ve noticed the menu.php under appearance > menus loads very slowly. To the point where I dread having to edit the menu because inevitably I have to wait for it to be editable, make my change, and then wait again to press “save” or continue editing. It’s painful.

I thought it was a server issue, but this is on multiple different servers of all varieties from GoDaddy, Bluehost, HostPapa, Websavers, Dreamhost… you name it. Then I thought it was a WordPress issue, but it works fine on other themes.

Unfortunately, it really seems to be a Pro issue that has persisted for years.

There’s no point in asking for the log in details where I’m having the issue because it would be over 50 websites by now that I’ve had this issue.

Any plans to fix? Or is there a setting I’m missing in general? I mean a setting in the theme or WordPress, not the backend since this is on multiple hosts of different varieties.

Any input appreciated. Y’all rock and I really do like the theme but the menu thing is a struggle. Thanks

Thank you for the very detailed post information. This is actually a common issue if you have more than 20 or more menu items (including submenu items). What you can do is to increase your PHP max input value. Kindly check out this article:
