Anchor tags not working with button or text link

I have a couple buttons that are supposed to drop page down to a certain anchor point but are not working. Im anchoring to a custom headline called COMMON CONDITIONS. In the custom headline settings visual tab I highlighted my text clicked Insert—>Anchor and typed common-conditions-id in the ID box.

Next in the button Href box I’ve tried #common-conditions-id

This is on (http://brain-bodyhealth.com/chiropractic/)

Strangest thing is once I click the button I see the link change to add the #common-conditions-id at the top but nothing happens. However if I simply refresh the browser page with that link it drops down to the custom headline I need it to.

Ive recently updated Wordpress and x-theme. Ive clear all caches. nothing is working. Please help.

Thanks in advance.

Hi @kodysemrow,

I am using chrome and it is working for me. See it here: https://screencast-o-matic.com/watch/cYfni04gac
What browser are you using? Is there any extension on your browser? Can you disabled it and then check again? Or please check it on another browser. Let us know how this goes.

Hi, thanks for the response. I have tried this on both safari (desktop and mobile) and chrome and they respond the same way (adds anchor ext. to link in browser but doesn’t function unless you refresh the page). A few months ago we had a different anchor link that did work great. We have since taken that anchor down. Still not sure why these are working the way they are. Have not added or taken away any browser extensions since previous anchor worked.

Any other ideas? Thanks!

Hey @kodysemrow,

I get the same result as Lely’s. I tried in Windows Chrome and also Mac Safari and Chrome. The http://brain-bodyhealth.com/chiropractic/#common-conditions-id jump link works. What doesn’t work is this http://brain-bodyhealth.com/#common-conditions-id. That’s because there’s no common-conditions-id ID on the home page.

This seems to be an issue on your end only. Would you mind testing on other computers? Also, please clear the browser’s cache and test in the incognito mode.

Thanks.

It appears that clearing the caches in both browsers was the trick! Works as it should now.

Thanks a ton!

You’re always welcome @kodysemrow!

Cheers.
