Anchor links going to the wrong position (jumping higher up as page loads)

Hi, This is happening in multiple places, where the top menu links go to a location down the page, it tried to go there and then jumps as the page keeps loading. The bug only happens when you are on a different page and then go to anchor on a new page. If you are already on a page and use an anchor link to elsewhere on that same page it is always fine as page is now loaded.

I understand about clearing caches and I have done that, also all plugins, theme and core WP is updated. My memory settings in wp-config.php are fine.

I even tried the JS code suggested at the bottom of this thread, and same issue: https://theme.co/apex/forum/t/anchor-link-leads-to-wrong-position/2542

The strange thing is when I launched the site a few months ago I would have checked this in multiple browsers, and it was fine, so this seems to be a new issue, Have checked on multiple browsers (MAC) as well as phone (iPhone). Links are in private post, many thanks

This looks like a bug with Essential Grid plugin. I’ll post this issue in our tracker so the person responsible for reporting to third-party bundled plugin authors could report this.

I have noticed this is happening in other sites too that use X theme… Anchors are great when already on the page with the anchor, but when . going from a different page to anchor on a new page it has trouble lining up correctly as page loads. I have noticed this recently with and without Ess grid … so I think bug is with X theme not nessecarily with Ess Grid. Thx
