All Content Erased?!

So, a few couple of times now, I’ve opened up the global css tab in cornerstone, NOT made any changes, saved, exited to dashboard, and then visited my page only to see everything is gone except for the header and footer. All main body sections erased. Luckily I had everything backed up and didnt have to start from scratch, but I’ve still lost several hours of work. Why is this happening? How can I stop it from happening? And is there any way I can retrieve the work I’ve done in the last 24 hours?

Hi There,

Thanks for writing in! Is it possible to post the custom CSS that you have used in that particular situation along with the page URL to check your issue.

Also it could be that you have used invalid CSS syntaxes so that it won’t parse correctly. Whenever you’re using custom CSS, you can use an online tool like CSS Lint (http://csslint.net/) to make sure that you don’t have any errors.

Thanks!

I actually haven’t edited any CSS, so whatever CSS is there, came with the demo content for Ethos 2. And I’m afraid to open that global CSS tab in cornerstone because everytime I do, it erases my entire site.

Hi There,

The password seems incorect.

Please check.

Thanks!

There was an issue with Yoast and Pro, where content disappeared

if you use Yoast, disable it and then resave your cornerstone content… does that work?

Sorry about that, I sent another secure note.

Hi,

Password still not working.

Please check again and let us know.

Thanks

Ok, created a new one, please see the latest secure note.

Hi There,

I do believe this could be related to your Siteground cache as it sounds unusual,

Are you referring to your home page?

I have turned off Sg optmizer and CS started to load as expected.

I would suggest using this plugin just once your website is done as it could be the cause of the issue.

Please let us know if the issue persists and how can we replicate.

Thanks!
