Aligning featured image and hover over

hello everyones been very helpfull, i have a few more questions, for some css.

i am trying to put my featured image to the left side of my post, ( only on the main blog page ) i am using this code:

.blog .entry-featured { width: 40%; float: left; margin: 20; }

example site: dirtbikeplanet.com

2 how can i put a small border between each blog post, on the main blog page?
3 how can i change the “read more” text to someting else on the blog main page.
4 how can i make the featured image say “view post” when hovering over it, like on the example website.
5 how can i change the text inside the search bar, which is “search” by default

Hi There,

Thanks for writing in!

The example site using Ethos stack, If you will use the same then you blog page will give the same layout.
I can see your site using different stack, Please go to theme options -> Stack change it to Ethos.

To change the place hoder of search box please add this JS code to theme option -> Global JS

 jQuery(document).ready(function(){ 
      jQuery ("#searchform input.search-query").attr("placeholder", "Type your text").blur();
});

that saved a lot of time, thanks a lot, 2 more question,

is it possible to simply change the “view post” text when you hover over the image,
and after i switched to ethos, certain sections turned black, the background, on the header and footer, i tried to adjust this through the customizer > layouts > background colors, but i assume thats the wrong place, i am still trying to figure out where to go, also checked the forums.

To change “View Post”, create fie _index-featured.php in wp-content/themes/pro-child/framework/views/ethos

Then add the code below into that file.

With regards to background, I don’t see any black background in your site.

i mean the background on the header and bottom, also, i have never added a new file, can you give me directions on where to do this, sorry to bother you once again, thanks and i am using the regular x theme.

For confirmation, it’s just changing the background right? And it’s not changing the text View Post?

But I did check your site and your header and footer background is now grey instead of dark, which is correct, it can be changed through header and footer builders.
