Hi there, after running the latest Xtheme / Cornerstone update I am receiving the error message “you do not have permission to inspect this element type message” when I try to edit the sites - update from xtheme 10.2.9 to 10.3.3 / cornerstone 7.2.9 to 7.3.3 I am on WP 6.2.2 The element giving this message are the older elements such as “content area”. I have checked all the permissions and have full admin rights. This is happening on two different websites. I have fallen back to the older versions for now. Can you let me know when a fix will be in place? All the best, Cindy
Did you see the element permissions split up or more like you have been seeing them throughout Pro6? I don’t know if caching plugins actually do this for admin pages, but it sounds like a cache of that page might be pulling up for this page. I think there’s clearly a migration issue with the deprecated if you had these elements turned on before, and I’ll try to address that today.
HI Charlie, No the permissions did not look like your screen above. I cleared my site cache but it didn’t change the cornerstones permissions area look. Thanks for your quick response. I appreciate your jumping in to work on this.
Do you have a site currently with this issue I could look at? I’m not entirely sure what this could be without it being cache. I’m going to create a fallback for these deprecated elements default permissions as well.
Hi Charlie,
I apologize for the delay. I’ve tried again to update, and cleared all cache (WP engine) as well as cache from admin area. Also tried using different browsers and incognito. Did not help. I have a development site set up where you can take a look. Let me know what email address you want me to use and I will set up a user login for you. All the best. Cindy
I don’t think issue exists on this site since it’s a dev one, but appreciate the info. You are looking for this area in the “Settings > Elements” dropdown. I did see another site with this issue though yesterday. Which was some cache issue. We’re going two things. We’re going to try sending proper version numbers to WordPress in the hopes that fixes this caching issue, and hopefully others that we’ve had in the past. If that doesn’t work we’re also adding a filter that will let you enable the elements regardless if that page is working or not. Appreciate you sticking with us on this issue, have a great day!
Thank you! Really appreciate the support. Appreciate the follow up and will look forward to the update. All the best.
