Advanced filtering question on The Grid

Hi,

I’d like to use The Grid to display related content. In the Source, I can select to filter by a specific tag or category, but I’m wondering if it’s possible to filter by a variable that will match the filter tag/category to those assigned to the parent page on which the element appears?

Essentially I’m hoping to be able to create one grid that can be used multiple times and have the filter display different results according to the context of each instance. As opposed to having to create multiple grids with the tags/categories manually selected for each place I would like to use it within the site.

I hope that makes sense? If not, hopefully you get the idea from the illustration below :slight_smile:

Hey @peeraction,

To clarify, you want to setup 1 grid that will be filtered differently on different pages. Regretfully, that is not a feature offered by The Grid. It could be possible with custom development but that is outside the scope of our theme support. You might want to consult with a developer for this case.

Sorry - just another thought. Would using Essential Grid instead make this possible without custom development?

The same goes with the Essential grid plugin. What you have in mind is only possible with custom development of the plugin which is beyond the scope of our support.
