Adobe fonts - still a problem since 2018?

Hi. I selected a number of Adobe fonts and created a project. In Font Manager I was originally able to tell it the project code, and all the fonts loaded into Font Manager. However, when I selected any of the fonts from this project (in Font Manager), it would not preview. Nor would it display in the Header Builder or presumably any other builder. When I clicked to refresh in Font Manager, it hung there, just as is did for @radiogiurgi in 10/18, stuck in “Refreshing”.

Before I start taking things apart over here, can you tell me if there is still a known problem with Adobe Fonts?

While I’m building my site here, I’ve got a lot of fonts - too many for a live site - in Font Manager. I have many selected in the Adobe section. I also have a bunch of woff2 files which I’ve successfully uploaded into Font Manager but can never see to assign to any elements. Could the simple high quantity of fonts I’m trying to load in my dev environment be the cause of this problem?

Thanks.

Hi Frank,

Thank you for writing in, Integrating your Adobe Fonts Project ID and Uploading your Custom Fonts are just the first step. You still need to define that font-family in the Font Manager (actual list) to use those on an element or on Theme Options.

No, we have not heard about Adobe Fonts issue recently.

Cheers!

OK. Maybe I wasn’t clear enough. Also, let me stress that I read the docs, try different options, and search the forum before posting my questions, so I would appreciate some thoughtfulness in your replies please. I’m trying to build a web site, that is my priority, so while I enjoy learning all about Pro and exchanging messages with the great support people at Themeco, what I would like most to do is save some time.

We can start with just the Adobe Fonts question now please:

  1. I have an Adobe Fonts project
  2. I put this Adobe Fonts Project into Font Manager; at this time Font Manager is displaying all the fonts in my Project
  3. I created a font alias called FR Header Site Title and put one of my Adobe Fonts Project fonts into that (Rig Shaded Medium Shadow); Font Manager does not show a preview of the selected font - see attached file FontMgr-FontNotPreviewed.jpg
  4. In Header Builder, I chose my font alias FR Header Site Title as the font for my element, but Builder does not show that font - see attached file Builder-FontNotDisplayed.jpg
  5. I saved the header and did a WordPress preview of a page that shows the new header, but not the font assigned to it - See attached file PagePreview-FontNotShown.jpg

When I do the same steps as I just described, only choose a Google font, everything works properly. When I do the same steps with another font from my Adobe project, the result is the same as what I have illustrated (doesn’t work).

Also, before working on my site today, I did my Microsoft updates and rebooted the machine, so the environment should be pretty clean.

I hope that by spending the time to explain what I did step by step and making screenshots to illustrate, I am demonstrating that simply pointing me at the docs like I’ve done nothing, like I post before I even think about it, isn’t going to help solve my question. In future, maybe we can streamline this process so when I ask a question, the first reply makes progress toward a solution. That would really help me with my site.

If you or someone there can point out what I’m doing wrong, or help me to be able to actually use my Adobe Fonts project in my site, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks.

Hi Frank,

Would it be okay to request your admin login credentials for further testing? Please provide it in the secure note.

There could be some permission related issue between your site and adobe font server since it’s directly requested from there based from your provided details. We can only provide answer once we gather enough information what’s causing this on your site.

Thanks!

Possibly a local cache issue. ISP checked everything on their back end, all good. When I opened Pro in an Edge browser window, the Adobe Fonts process worked completely - Font Manager preview, builder, page previews.

Do you know exactly which cache(s) to clear in Chrome to allow the Adobe Fonts to get loaded properly? If I leave it alone, will it eventually refresh (or something) and appear properly?

Thanks.

Hello Frank,

These links might be able to help you:

Regards.

Thank you, but these are not even close to related to my issue. Did you just search the Adobe site for “font browser” and paste a couple links?

Let’s just not worry about this issue, I seem to be able to work around it for the time being.

My other outstanding question(s) are more important. It would be great if I could get sticky headers to do what I want (see other post).

Thanks.

You are most welcome.
And we will be responding your other thread shortly.
