Additional h1 tag created from mobile version

Hi!

I see that when I duplicate a section and style it for mobile, it creates a duplicate h1 tag. Is this not an SEO problem? I read that when wrapped in a section tag there is no need to worry, but I’m not sure the X Theme sections create their own section tags. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks for writing in!

In most SEO, it advisable that only one h1 tag should be present in the page. To enforce this, I would recommend that the duplicated section should be edited and assign h2 tag for your title instead just to avoid having two h1 tags on the page.

So if I do that for say the mobile version, then the mobile version has no h1 tag. Does that matter?

Hi PJ,

That means your page will now have an H1 and H2 (not two H1). Don’t worry about SEO, even the H1 is hidden on mobile the Search engines will still able to crawl it.
