Adding Site Wide margins to the tops of pages

I have a sticky menu that seems to be covering the top portion of every page. How can I add a larger top margin to every page?

For example, the title of this page is covered by the sticky menu. I want the title to appear while retaining the sticky menu configuration, including the non-transparent background. A margin at the top of the page would be ideal.

Hello @TushitaKBC,

Thanks for writing in! You are experiencing this issue because of your bar settings in the header. Please edit your header and change the initial position of the second bar from “Absolute” to just “Relative”.

That was it. I had two bars and only one of them had been set to relative! Thank you so much runel.

Also, I’d like to add that I really appreciate that you guys are adding images to the support threads to make everything more clear. Great idea. X theme support has been stepping up it’s game since I bought my first license 5 years ago.

Bummer, I spoke to soon…I have a few pages with the top separator enabled at 50px (https://tara.meditationinhouston.org/calendar) and the menu bar doesn’t give enough room.

How can I add a bit of space so that the top separator displays? I plan to incorporate that into most, if not all of my pages.

Hello @TushitaKBC,

The separator feature is best used in between the sections. I would highly recommend that you edit your page and add a top margin of at least 50 pixels. A custom css will not help and not necessary because it can just affect other pages with no section separators.

I solved it with a third bar that just has a gap and the spacing I needed.
