Adding footer columns, adds a second footer?!

Hello,

I think I may have just missed something but I hope someone can point me in the right direction with regards to my issue.

Whenever I try to add columns/widgets to the footer in my X theme website, it seems to put a second footer above the original footer (which is stuck with only having one column). Am I doing something wrong?

I’ve added a couple of screenshots to show this—first one shows footer widgets disabled and then second one shows four widgets activated, which then adds the beige-coloured footer on top of the original footer.

Hi @garywaiman,

You are doing the right thing on how to add a column in the footer area, you just need to access the widgets to add your content in your footer, to do that please go to Appearance > Widgets.

Once you are done adding content in your footer widget area, it will show up in the beige-colored footer.

I hope it will help to solve your issue.

Thank you.

Hello,

But I’m not looking for en extra beige-coloured footer? I just want to add extra content and columns into the standard, dark-coloured footer, that already has the social media buttons, nav menu and opening hours?

Actually never mind, I just realised that I can completely deactivate the bottom dark-coloured footer, and just use the beige one with columns.

Thank you for responding previously.

You are most welcome!
