I’d like to add a full-width video background to the page in the screenshot so that it appears in the background of the headling and widget. Tips please!
I was able to get the video into the background but not full-width…

Thank you for reaching out to us, To make it full width, you need to change the page template to Blank - No Container | Header, Footer this will remove the page container. To do this, edit your page in WordPress page editor, Under Page Attributes change the Template to Blank - No Container | Header, Footer

That is the common behavior of video backgrounds. The controls you need are only available in the Video and the Classic Video Player elements. Loop and Mute are disabled in those elements by default.
There’s another option but it’s not an element. You will need to use Slider Revolution’s slide background option. For more details, please see https://www.themepunch.com/revslider-doc/main-background/
