Adding a custom post feed to the homepage

I wanted to see how to add a section on the homepage that automatically feeds a row of 4 columns automatically pulling 1 post of each post type/category that we assign as a "featured " to this section. SO we would also need to add also to the posts a box that we could be ticked to say its featured and belongs in this homepage section. See this mockup fo the row. Let me know if you can do this project the costs. IF it works i"ll then send you the FTP info./passwor.

You can try with the recent post shortcode:

[recent_posts count="1" orientation="vertical" category="top-10"]

Don’t forget to replace the top-10 text with your category slug.
