Adding 3rd Party shortcode

Hi,

I am trying to add a carousel onto my page. However, as there is not an appropriate carousel in X I decided to use a third party plugin.

However, when I tried to add in the shortcode produced by the plugin, it does not show up in the front end.

I tried to add the shortcode to the Classic Raw Content element, but it did not work.

Is there any way of integrating the shortcode of external plugins?

Cheers,
James

Hi there,

If the plugin does not have a conflict with our theme it should show ok. You can test that by adding a test page and use normal WordPress editor and add the shortcode if it is working ok, then there is a conflict with the Cornerstone and the plugin you use.

If that also does not work, try to change the theme to 2016, if it works then the conflict is between the theme and the plugin. If it still does not work then there is a problem of the usage of the plugin.

Regretfully, we cannot provide support for third-party plugins or scripts as our support policy in the sidebar states due to the fact that there is simply no way to account for all of the potential variables at play when using another developer’s plugin or script. Because of this, any questions you have regarding setup, integration, or troubleshooting any piece of functionality that is not native to X will need to be directed to the original developer.

Thank you for your understanding.

I’m having the same issue with a video gallery plugin and came across this as an answer to my problem. I’m not typically one to complain but ever since the overhaul x and cornerstone has just been a lot more sketch in general. Which stinks out loud. I’m somewhere in the neighborhood of 25+ licenses with you guys and a “meh, it just doesn’t work” really response bums me out. Better luck next time James.

Hi James,

Were you having issues with the shortcode before you updating X and Cornerstone to the most recent version? Although ideally we would want all the third party plugins to work instantly with X and Cornerstone, there are instances that when a third party plugin is not well coded, it would cause a conflict with the theme and considering the number of plugins available, it goes beyond our capacity to check for their compatibility with X and CS.

X and CS are coded according to Wordpress standard so in most cases, plugin would work fine. However, since this is not working on your setup, we could have a look and see if it’s something we could provided some assistance. Kindly provide us with the admin and FTP details of your site in a Secure Note.

With that being said, it would still be best to get in touch with the plugin developer and see what advice they can provide as well.

Kindly also check that you are update to the latest version of X and CS.

Thank you.
