Add Sidebar to Blog Category and Tag pages

I’ve been able to add sidebars to the main blog page and blog posts. Can you tell me how to add sidebars to the categories pages and tag pages?

Hi,

Thanks for writing in!

To add sidebar to those pages, you can add the code below in your child theme’s functions.php file

function add_sidebar_archive($layout){
    if(is_category() || is_tag()){
        $layout = "content-sidebar";
    }
    return $layout;
}

add_filter('x_option_x_layout_content', 'add_sidebar_archive',999);

Thank you!

This added the sidebar… but, it adds the sidebar to the right side of the pages. I’d like it to be on the left side. Could you help with that?
