Add same sidebar to all pages

Hi,

I’ve been trying to add a sidebar which shows on all my pages including the blog page.

I’ve also read your unlimited sidebar feature and tried to changing my page layout from boxed to full width.

My problem is:
I managed to work out how to add the sidebar to my blog and other pages, but not the homepage.
HOWEVER it’s showing right of my sections and pages, not underneath the navbar/topbar, like all other content.
How do I integrate the sidebar into the sections and pages?
Can I also do that inside a boxed layout?
How can I create a sidebar showing on all pages including my homepage?

Looking forward to any help

Hi there,

Please kindly go to X > Launch > Options > Layout and Design and select a layout with sidebar.

Then go to X > Launch > Options > Blog and make sure that you choose the Use Global Options for the all options.

Now you will have the sidebar for all pages and posts of your website.

Then please go to Appearance > Widgets and assign whatever widget you like to the Main Sidebar widget area which will show on all sidebars of the website:

Thank you.

Hi Christopher,

and thanks for your reply.

I’ve done all that, but the sidebar still isn’t inside the sections/pages area, but outside that area.
I want it to be included in the main content area and thus underneath the navbar/topbar…

Not sure how to descibe it any better, so I have attached a screen shot of how it looks like right now with the sidebar next to the sections area:

And this is an example of how I want it to look like (sidebar in the sections area, unterneath the navbar and not next to it) : http://ohmydogblog.com/

Do you know what I mean?

Hi there,

That’s the special feature of the stack you’re using. Fixed positioned sidebar and there is no way you could just move it since there are added CSS and JS to intentionally implement it. If you like to make the sidebar goes under the header then you may switch to another stack.

Thaks!

Great thanks, that works

Is the only way to include the sidebar in my homepage by adding a widget area manually?

Hi there,

With blank templates like what your home page uses, yes, you have to manually add a widget area.

Thanks!
